I'm working on revamping my "Hope" Poster with something more relevant to things happening after the election. This was a really loose sketch based on a poster in my room. He's looking a little like Nathan on Heroes at the moment. I'm working on it.

OEF Mouthy Broads

My friend G makes these fantastic little sculptures called "Mouthy Broads". These are the three I asked her to make for me. At some point when I have a few quiet moments I'm going to ink these and post them as a comic or a gif.

My mom made a comment once about someone being so lonely sitting waaaaaay up on their pedestal. So I drew it..

I made these two posters (hopefully) for free tix at the NorVA.
I'm going to both shows win or lose, but free would be the bees knees.

The concept for both: simple.

I read an article about Gavin Rossdale switching to an acoustic guitar for some of his smaller venue shows, so I thought ..whimsical guitar art.

Going to do two more fun - Band of Horses and Snoop Dogg. I think more very literal translations are in order.

Baby Cat

I think this is the final version of Baby Cat for Mom. I'm going to use some watercolors and inks on the final water color before it gets framed, but I'm pleased with it.

I was drawing some pictures from a medical magazine for fun and had my nephew help me paint them. They turned out pretty cool looking when I scanned them in.

My photography is slightly lackluster (this Canon is toooo fancy if you know what I mean). I was very pleased with the final final.

Baby Cat

I'm working on this image of Baby Cat for my mom and also to display at a few local pet shops (in hopes of boosting Leslie awareness.) After winning some high school art shows with cat pictures I promised myself that I'd draw only people art from now on. I have to admit though, pet pics are still a nice supplemental income.

The Snarkabet

My nephews love (the work of) Eric Carle - and so do I! I got to thinking about making some sorta poster/multi-frame E.C. styled alphabet for them. I was also thinking I'd use it to show different font styles too. I have 26 creatures to make so I thought I'd post my first letter today. F is for Franklin Font & Frog. It's a work in progress.

Fruit Lady

Someone asked me to draw an old-skool art neauveau (sp) type lady carrying fruit for some comic splurp I was working on. I can't remember why, but here she is anyway. Think I'll go back in and color this later.

I've been told that this cat looks disturbed in nearly every picture he takes. Possibly due to the large amount of dogs in the house constantly trying to sniff his b*tt. :)

I'm working on a patch and logo for a local group of supply soldiers in Afghanistan called the Sand Squids. Here's my early ideas for the patch.. 10 tentacles for each member of the group. Sand color for sand (duh). Weapons = Supplies. Will be adding various other elements over the next few weeks.

I was going to pull this piece together around the premise that if the McCain-Palin ticket wins I'd move to Canada. Then I thought, I'm totally NOT moving to Canada or any other country for that matter, so I need to find a way to make this work.

I'm waiting for my magic hilarious quote to come for this illustration, but it's not happening. I tried layering "their" quotes in the background, but they were too boring and long winded to be poignant.

I'm not sure if it's because I'm not good at going negative (ha) or if I am so disturbed by all of McPalin's attacks on MY candidate. SO I'm open to ideas. This illo is not finished yet, so friends - Email me some ideas.

I really did like my "Sleepy-Time-Faux-VanGogh" banner type thing, but it really didn't make much sense for my blog other than I liked it and thought it was pretty. I did that in '99 or 2000 (the banner not the blog). So I thought it was time for a complete revamp featuring amorphous lava-lamp like blots with ponies in them, a superhero me, and still some van-gogh-ey waves to satisfy my inner impressionist.

Bear with me until I get these colors and fonts like I want them. Web endeavors are not for the impatient. :)

Yes, I CAN!

Some of the "home-made" artwork coming out of the Obama-campaign is simply fantastic.
I couldn't resist throwing my own stuff into the pile. I hadn't even heard of the term agit-prop art (art to agitate the masses) until this campaign. It's genius to enlist an army of disillusioned and broke graphic fartists.

IF you're into looking at cool posters and political art, I recommend omgposters.com it's a quick source of inspiration and small images to decorate your cube with.

In the first of many future attempts to learn Flash better, here's an owl in a beat up old car. I thought he could use a better way to fly/travel.

Ideally (with a little more time), I'd like to have the clouds more smokey, with an explosion and the car breaking down somehow.
